This scarf may have been made in the art department of our state
university. Semi-transparent silk crepe shawl or scarf, hand
painted delicate shades of salmon, mint green, turquoise, purple
and yellow. Hand painted gold highlights, including the artist's
signature, which looks like "Ann Dolfer." 46" by 47". Nicely
overcast hems. Mint, never used.

Sally Gee is one of my favorite 1940s designers, even though I
can't find out much about her. Her designs were very feminine,
but she always shows a lot of ego. Like on this scarf, signed
"Designed in Paris by Sally Gee." Luminous silk with a delicate,
a-symmetrical floral print. Hand rolled hem highlighted in
lavender. 32" square. Excellent vintage condition.

Oscar de la Renta did tropical prints perhaps better than any
other designer of his time. This is an especially dramatic,
very romantic print. Silk is very fine, with sort of a window-
pane, translucent weave. 11 1/2" wide by 52" long. Rolled
hems on the long sides. Self-fringed short ends. de la
Renta signature, of course. Original tag. MINT.
